The south easterly county of Surrey lies due south of London. It has a population of around 1,100,000 which makes it the most densely populated county after Greater London. This is in part due to its proximity to the capital which has generated many commuter towns and villages. Having said this Surrey contains more woodland than any other county.

Surrey is surrounded by no fewer than six other counties: Berkshire, East Sussex, Greater London, Hampshire, Kent and West Sussex. Its county town is Guildford which is home to the University of Surrey. It is a prosperous county with more millionaires than any other county.
